Bambi found her forever home at HCCF in September 2024 at just 6 months old. She’d had her front leg amputated due to a severe trauma in her previous home at just 4 months old. Dogs and cats can ofcourse do really well on three legs, but it does cause extra strain on the remaining limb and paw due to over compensation, especially with front leg amputees. We are experienced with animals with amputations so Bambi is in good hands here at the sanctuary. She gets on so well with all the cats, we think she believes she is one! We manage her disability with regular canine clinical massage, correct and safe exercise to prevent injury and supplements to ensure her joints, ligaments and tendons are appropriately supported.
